Boost Comprehension (Year 5)

Boost Comprehension is the brand-new reading comprehension scheme from Boost Primary. Built on the key recommendations of the Education Endowment Foundation’s Improving Literacy in Key Stage Two Guidance Report, Boost Comprehension enhances pupils’ fluency and ability to comprehend texts.

Boost Comprehension (Year 5) offers:

• 30 Year Five texts, including well-known texts and Boost Comprehension originals
• Three fully resourced lessons for each text
• Guided oral reading instruction and repeated reading to improve fluency
• Input slides for teacher modelling of discrete skills
• Activities to facilitate the independent practice of skills
• Philosophy-based plenary questions to develop oracy skills
• Texts that promote British values through spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
